MosquitoNets.com, in partnership with the Discovery Fellowship in Oklahoma USA, is providing bed nets to people in Africa. The goal of the MosquitoNets Donate-A-Net program is to provide as many bed nets as possible, via the Discovery Fellowship, to protect at-risk Ugandan families from malaria. Malaria is one of the most severe public health problems in the world. It is a leading cause of death and disease in many developing countries and young children and pregnant women are most affected. Some chilling facts about malaria:

• Malaria kills an African child every 30 seconds
• Each year 350-500 million cases of malaria occur worldwide
• Malaria kills over one million people each year, most of them young children.
• 20% of all deaths in African children under five years of age are thought to be due to malaria.
• Malaria constitutes 10 percent of Africa's disease burden.
• Malaria impacts individuals and, in turn, communities and countries. Symptoms include fever, headaches, vomiting, convulsions and coma.
• Malaria is transmitted by infected mosquitoes and mainly strikes poor and rural communities.
• Malaria transmission occurs at night.
• Bed nets prevent the spread of malaria. Malaria is preventable and curable.
